Britain’s best dressed man in 2012 and 2013, but also the man who scored most nr. one hits ever in this decade. We’re talking about Tinie Tempah, who we welcome sincerely on the Suikerrock stage this summer. You do of course know Tinie from all those chart toppers like ‘Miami to Ibiza’, together with the lads from Swedish house Maffia , which they made into a huge summer anthem back in 2010. Or maybe last year’s ‘Girls like’ with Zara Larsson that sold half a million copies, just like that. Tinie Tempah played the closing ceremony of the summer Olympics in London, played the biggest festivals like Glastonbury, Coachella and Pukkelpop eg, and his indoor gigs, well, the stadiums and arena’s just seem to get bigger and bigger.
In the summer of 2015 he worked with British singer songwriter Jess Glynne which resulted in ‘Not Letting go’, another record breaking hit single where Glynne’s hooky pop-voice finely interacted with Tinie’s charismatic rhymes. Now, March 31 Tinie’s new album ‘Youth’ is set for release, and it’s a long anticipated one. The video for ‘Something special’ was dropped ahead of this release. ‘Youth’ will be an album containing elements of all the great British musical soundscapes Tinie Tempah grew up in. “It doesn’t matter if it’s garage, hiphop or r&b” he states. It’s his roots, and one more reason for you to check him out on our stage, Saturday July 29!
